FAQ's

What should I bring to the event?

DSLR/Mirrorless camera, wide angle and telephoto lenses, tripod, filters, camera bag, cold weather clothing, mitts, beanie/toque, sturdy footwear, rain gear, thermals, laptop for editing, spare batteries, spare memory cards, headlamp & lots of energy!

What are my transportation options for getting to and from the event?

We will be meeting at 10am in the Canmore area on day 1 of the workshop. Transport to/from Calgary International airport can be easily arranged with Banff Airporter or Brewster Express Bus and takes about 1.5hrs. You will be dropped off at the location of your request in the Banff/Canmore area on the final day after checking out of our hotel.

How cold will it be and will there be snow & wild weather?

This time of year is amazing for its variability which is perfect for creating dramatic photographs that have that something extra. It will be colder in the mornings. Average temperatures in June range between 3 to 17 degrees celcius (37-62F) but it can dip lower than that so be prepared for that possibility.

* All food and beverages - we will have access to restaurants and a supermarket or two throughout the trip.

* Travel and medical insurance. We highly recommend you purchase these before embarking on this trip.

* Your flights and travel to Canmore, Alberta. Once you arrive into Canmore we will pick you up and take care of the rest!

Testimonials

" I recently attended a photography workshop of Nick Fitzhardinge’s. It was a wonderful experience and I must credit the truly extraordinary landscape of the area and Nick’s skills as a photographer and guide for its success.

Nick’s understanding of photography is exemplary and he was able to spot gaps in my knowledge of which I was not even aware. His recommendations were always presented respectfully and I came away from the workshop with a much better understanding of landscape photography than I had brought to it. Nick’s knowledge of the area and it’s photographic potential is exemplary as well.

He knows the most attractive viewpoints and the best possible times for visiting them. I am extremely pleased with the photographs that I took and I know that they would not have been possible without his guidance.

Nick’s love of photography and the mountains is apparent, as is his joy in being able to share that love with others. I would not hesitate to recommend one of Nick Fitzhardinge’s photographic workshops to anyone  "
